BGD’s call for a Green Revolution

Category : News

Prof. Čedo Maksimović, leader of the Blue Green Dream, called for a rethink of urban planning at his invited talk at the 2014, Green Infrastructure Conference in London.

Prof. Čedo Maksimović’s plea piqued the interest of reporter Sarah Cosgrove.  Writing in Horticulture Week, Sarah highlighted how this leading academic cautioned that it would take a climactic disaster to spark a green infrastructure revolution in London.

The current failure to harness UK expertise in Blue Green Infrastructure and implement the Blue Green Dream’s transformative vision would, warned Prof. Čedo Maksimović, result in the devastation of England’s capital in the event of an extreme weather event.  Moreover, we would then be dependent upon Blue Green technology developed by China or Holland to future-proof London against climate change.
